1990 m. kovo 11 d., Lietuvos Aukščiausioji Taryba priėmė Aktą dėl Lietuvos nepriklausomos valstybės atkūrimo. Po 50 metų sovietų okupacijos Lietuva vėl išsikovojo sau laisvę. 🇱🇹

On March 11th, 1990, after 50 years of occupation, Lithuania became the first nation to break free of the Soviet Union when Lithuania’s Supreme Council re-established independence.

I have been involved in Boston Lithuanian School, Lithuanian dance, scout camps in the U.S. and in Lithuania, Camp Neringa, McGill University’s Baltic Club, and more recently, attending the World Lithuanian Youth Congress (WLYC) in Iceland! Hello! I am Greta Stanevičiūtė — the new Secretary of the Lithuanian American Youth Association. I am currently studying architectural engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I am the project manager and secretary of the Humanitarian Engineering Club. I have been active in the Lithuanian community since I was a child - I graduated from the Chicago Lithuanian School, I am a Lithuanian Scout, and I often fly to Lithuania to visit relatives and friends. I love playing the violin, traveling, taking yoga classes, and enjoying the sun. I am happy to be a part of this organization and contribute to the Lithuanian youth community!

Day 2 of our AGM was full of presentations, discussions, and smiles🤩 Simonas traveled all the way from the UK to introduce and tell us about @pljs_org. He explained the organization, what to expect in the coming year, and preparation for the next WLYA Congress held in South America‼️🌎 Marija led a discussion on JAV LJS: how to attract young people, what is missing, what is successful, and what we would like to see more of🤓 We wrote resolutions, elected new board members, and then drove to Los Angeles’ Lithuanian Days! 🇱🇹There, we met with a broader LA Lithuanian community, went around the fair, and danced listening to Dzentelmenai and Biplan until closing🎤 On Sunday we rolled out of bed and went to the beach to relax after a long weekend🏖️ We are happy that 30 members attended the 2025 JAV LJS AGM!🤙🏻

2025 JAVLJS suvažiavimas vyko Los Andželės mieste Kalifornijoj spalio 10-12 d🌞 Anksti penktadienį dalyvavom rytiniam žygyje į kalnus lyg Hollywood iškabos⛰️ Vakarop keliavome į Tautinius Namus Glendale apylinkėje ir skaniai tacos valgėme kol girdėjome apie JAVLJS organizaciją, LISS stažuotę ir Šaknių projektą🏕️Vakaras pasibaigė privačiomis dirbtuvėmis su @bareikisvidas 🤯 Išgirdome apie Vido gyvenimą/muzikinę karjerą, atlikome kelis pratimus, padainavome kartu prie pianino ir supažindino mus su savo nauju albumu “Here and Now” by VB by the Sea🎵 Neįkainuojama pirmą dieną!

The 2025 LAYA AGM was held in Los Angeles, CA, October 10-12🌞 Early on Friday we participated in a morning hike up the hills to the Hollywood sign⛰️ In the evening, we traveled to Tautiniai Namai in the Glendale area and ate delicious tacos while hearing about the JAVLJS organization, LISS internship, and Project Šaknys🏕️ The evening ended with a private workshop with Vidas Bareikis🤯 We heard about Vidas’ life/musical career, did a few exercises, sang together at a piano, and he introduced us to his new album “Here and Now” by VB by the Sea🎵 Priceless first day!
